Description
KIRDI, northern Cameroon.
A rare set of three antique loincloths worn by Kirdi girls during dances and festivities.
Each loincloth is made up of small multicoloured glass beads strung on a plant fibre cord to form a geometric pattern. The bottom edge of each loincloth is adorned with a row of cowrie shells.
