DESCRIPTION
A French Post-Impressionist painter, his work was influenced by that of Eugène Boudin and Raoul Dufy. Having set up his studio in Honfleur, he worked alongside talented artists such as André Hambourg and Fernand Herbo. Famous for his landscapes of Normandy, he particularly depicted Deauville, Trouville and Honfleur through joyful, summery family scenes. Also active in Paris, he captured urban views that conveyed the atmosphere of the Belle Époque.
