DESCRIPTION
Amedeo Gennarelli was an Italian sculptor active during the Art Deco period. A pupil of Francesco Jerace, he emigrated to France in 1909 and settled in Paris. Particularly renowned for his female nudes, he exhibited his first work in 1913 at the Salon de la Société des artistes français, and went on to exhibit regularly there until 1936. To create his works, he used materials such as bronze, marble, ceramics and, on occasion, wood. Some of his sculptures were produced and distributed by the art dealers and foundry owners Jules Levi-Lehmann and Arthur Goldscheider.
