ARTS & CRAFTS An interesting ‘cathedral’ clock made of partially black-stained wood, with a circular dial in enamel and gilded brass featuring Roman numerals, resting on a rectangular base. Probably English in origin, second half of the 19th century. Height: 49 cm (Some small blackened wooden ornamental elements are missing) NOTE An identical clock was sold at Christie’s, auction of 30 June 2005, lot 32, London.
