Samuel Beckett (1906–1989) Autograph letter, addressed to Jean Demélier. Paris, 20 March 1974, 17 lines. On card stock. Jean Demélier (1940–2023). A poet, writer and illustrator, he was Samuel Beckett’s first French biographer. According to him, he was one of Beckett’s closest friends: ‘I was the one who wrote the first essay about him in French; and that is how I came to know him.
