Side table, known as a ‘table volante’
Made of moulded natural wood and veneers of various wood species.
The slightly overhanging rectangular top is adorned with an elaborate floral motif in marquetry of various woods, comprising flowers and foliage arranged asymmetrically.
It rests on four slightly curved legs, openwork on the sides with fine vertical slats, joined by a rectangular cross-brace.
Signed ‘L. Majorelle’ in the marquetry, bottom right of the top surface.
Art Nouveau period, circa 1900.
