LA TOUR D'AUVERGNE (Théophile-Malo Corret de) – Set of 2 signed autograph letters addressed to Jacques Le Brigant – Paris, 6 Nivôse Year V (26 December 1796) – 2½ pages on 2 sheets, In-4° – He sends him a copy of his work *Les origines gauloises, celles des plus anciens peuples de l’Europe*. ‘… I regret, my dear compatriot, that I was unable to consult you before publishing this work […] The government had led me to hope that it would assist me with the printing of this work, but I was forced to bear all the costs myself. Only 500 copies were printed; my meagre resources, given my current circumstances, did not allow me to print any more.
