Description
EXCEPTIONAL GROOM’S SUIT comprising a sleeveless jiletenn and a long-sleeved chupenn made of dark blue woollen cloth. The superb embroidery featuring garlands of leaves and multicoloured drein pesk attests to the bourgeois status and opulence of this family. Completed by a ‘bragou braz’ made of coarse ecru woollen cloth, featuring two deep side pockets and fitted with braided cords finished with multicoloured tassels to hold the gaiters in place, made of black cloth with the same embroidery as the chupenn at the back and fastened with buttons at the instep. (In exceptional condition, with tiny moth holes). Bourgeois style from PLOARÉ. Circa 1870/1880.
