Description
ARMEL BEAUFILS Emile-Jean (1882–1952): A polychrome earthenware GROUP depicting the three friends of Plougastel, marked with the artist’s name on the terrace and the number 145. QUIMPER, HENRIOT Manufactory, c. 1930. Height: 41 cm. Inspired by the Saint-Claude pilgrimage near Plougastel, which he attended in 1927, the artist created a bronze sculpture entitled ‘Sourire de Bretagne’ or ‘Pardon de Plougastel’. He commissioned Henriot to produce a series of copies around 1930.
