A fine copy. A photographic portrait of Montfalcon. This monumental compilation of texts on Lyon is a very rare work. The first volume focuses on the history of the city from Antiquity to the Middle Ages, a narrative which continues through to Volume IV (19th century), and includes a table of contents; Volume V provides an overview of the churches of Lyon and a register of the nobility; Volume VI offers a historical and topographical description. The final two volumes comprise a collection of cartulary texts, charters, epigraphs and other transcribed original documents.
