In-12, full duck-blue morocco leather decorated with a mosaic-style geometric pattern comprising squares of cream and burgundy morocco on the covers and a burgundy rectangle on the plain spine with the author’s name and title gilded at the foot, the whole highlighted by gilt and silver fillets; interior edging in the same duck-blue morocco lined with a burgundy morocco fillet; cream vellum endpapers; burgundy moiré silk endpapers; double endpapers; gilt fillet at the edges, guilloché caps, gilt head, untrimmed, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed V. Ollivier and Y. Letonturier. 254 pp. Spine sun-faded, some minor wear and tear, paper browned at the margins. First edition of the only collection of short stories by Anna de Noailles (1876–1933), which, through 15 autobiographically inspired texts, constructs a poetic variation on romantic relationships. A fine copy.
