[LANGUEDOC]. Minutes of the Assembly of the Lords of the Estates-General of the Province of Languedoc. A historical document, featuring a fine title vignette bearing the coat of arms of the Estates of Languedoc, in a contemporary binding. Montpellier, Jean Martel the Elder, 1778. Large quarto, cream vellum, smooth spine with a beige half-leather title label, four lace-up fastenings on the covers, red edges. 3 unnumbered folios and 381 pages – 1 unnumbered folio and 22 pages – 1 unnumbered folio and 14 pages – 1 unnumbered folio, 22 pp. (table of contents) and 4 unpaginated folios; headbands, initials and tailpieces engraved on wood. A few stains on the binding, closing laces missing, partial loss to the title label, ink bleed on the folio preceding the table of contents, a few foxing spots and browned pages, a small water stain on the lower margin of pages 21 and 22 of the table of contents, tears on the last two leaves with a loss on the first and restoration with adhesive tape on the second. Minutes of the Estates General of Languedoc, held in Montpellier from 29 October to 7 December 1778. The two sets of minutes that follow, with separate pagination, relate to the seneschalships of Carcassonne and Toulouse (1 and 2 December 1778). Rare handwritten annotations in ink in the margins of the leaves.
