Oblong 8vo, plum-coloured long-grain half-maroquin, ribbed spine decorated with garlands and gilt fillets and blind-stamped fleurons. 99 pp., title vignette and 24 lithographic plates printed in various colours. Minor scuffs from wear on the binding, some foxing. An illustrated edition of this amusing work by Maurice Alhoy (1802–1856), featuring 24 short sketches accompanied by 24 plates based on drawings by Victor Adam (1801–1866). Six of the humorous texts are devoted to hunting. A fine copy in a contemporary binding.
