CHEKHOV, Anton. The Lady with the Little Dog. Pairs, Éditeurs Français Réunis, 1961. In-8, paperback, flapped cover printed in black and blue, uncut. 44 pp., 2 full-page photographic reproductions on coated paper. A separate edition of this short story by the Russian master Anton Chekhov (1860–1904), published following the film adaptation by Iossif Kheifitz, which had been screened at the Cannes Film Festival the previous year. The two illustrations on coated paper are taken from the film. One of 120 numbered copies on pure-fibre Navarre vellum (no. 68), the first paper used before an unnumbered print run on alfa paper. A fine, uncut copy.
