BALZAC, Honoré de and QUINT, Jean-Paul. *Le Père Goriot*. A charming illustrated edition, printed on vellum paper and bound in a delightful binding by Flammarion-Vaillant. Paris, Kieffer, 1922. Quarto, half-maroquin in a coarse pine-green grain with corner pieces, spine with four raised bands, panels adorned with a central embossed design highlighted by gilt fillets and dots, covers and spine preserved, gilt head, untrimmed. Binding by Flammarion-Vaillant. 317 pp., frontispiece and numerous colour illustrations within the text. Spine slightly sun-faded. A fine edition richly illustrated by Jean-Paul Quint (1884–1953). Limited edition of 550 copies; this is one of the 450 numbered on vellum (no. 312). A fine copy in an attractive binding by Flammarion-Vaillant, who was active from 1900 to 1956.
