In-12, full reddish-amber morocco, ribbed spine, panels framed by a double gilt line and decorated with four small corner flowers and a gilt fleur-de-lis, triple gilt line framing the covers, gilt interior roulette, gilt edges.
XXIV and 299 pp., engraved frontispiece, headbands and initials.
In Latin.
Slight scuffing to the edges and corners. Frontispiece on slightly browned paper.
A fine edition of the odes by the Latin poet Horace, edited by Étienne André Philippe de Prétot (1707–1787), the royal censor responsible for overseeing the reprinting of the Latin classics by Antoine-Urbain Coustelier.
