A copy on tinted vellum in a fine pastiche binding by Flammarion Vaillant. Paris, Crès et Cie, 1922. 2 tomes in 2 in-8 volumes, each bound in pine-green half-basane with corners edged in gilt garlands, plain spine richly decorated lengthwise with arabesques, with a green basane title label at the foot, gilt head, covers preserved. Binding by Flammarion Vaillant. XVIII-355 and 387 pp., 85 plates in separate sheets with serpentine borders, including the two frontispieces (portraits of La Fontaine and Eisen), headbands and tailpieces. An illustrated edition featuring compositions based on drawings by Charles Eisen (1720–1778). Foreword by the bibliographer Adolphe van Bever. Print run limited to 1,770 copies; this one is numbered on Rives-dyed vellum (no. 825). In excellent condition.
