Quarto, full brown Jansenist morocco, ribbed spine, gilt head, covers and spine preserved. XIX and 404 pp., frontispiece and 18 full-page illustrations, numerous colour vignettes within the text. An illustrated edition featuring vivid colour illustrations by Joseph Hémard (1880–1961). Preface by Georges Grappe. Bound together with the subscription leaflet containing a full-page illustration (2 leaves). Limited edition of 521 copies; this is one of the 444 numbered copies on pure Lafuma rag-woven paper, signed by the illustrator (no. 326). A very fine copy.
