PEREC, Georges. *Les Revenentes*. Paris, Julliard – ‘Idée fixe’ series, 1972. Narrow 8vo, illustrated cover with flaps. 126 pp. Paper slightly browned at the margins. First edition, of which no large-format edition was printed, of one of Georges Perec’s (1936–1982) most distinctly Oulipian texts. This text, composed using no vowel other than the letter ‘e’, was published three years after its antithesis, *La Disparition*, which prohibited the use of that very same letter. Our copy contains two typographical corrections (pages 12 and 15) in black ink, which remove two ‘-u’s – letters that were, after all, banned from the outset by the rules, yet printed due to a lapse in attention on the part of the publisher or the author himself? In excellent condition.
