CARZOU. Engraver and lithographer II. First edition. A copy from the deluxe edition containing a series of 6 signed lithographs. Nice, Editions d’Art de Francony, n.d. [1975]. Quarto, turquoise cloth binding decorated with a gilded profile of a woman on the front cover, in a folio slipcase of the same cloth featuring the same profile and containing the series in a cloth folder. 220 pp., numerous reproductions in black and colour. Minor soiling to the slipcase. First edition of the second volume of the catalogue raisonné of Jean Carzou (1907–2000). Commentary by Maguy Furhange, a foreword by Roger Caillois and an introduction to the work by Marcel Brion. Text in French, English and German. Enclosed: the publisher’s presentation leaflet and a typewritten letter concerning this edition (in quarto format with printed letterhead). One of 300 copies of the deluxe edition, accompanied by a set of six lithographs, all numbered and signed by the artist in graphite (no. 84). In excellent condition.
