HALÉVY, Daniel. Two signed autograph letter-cards addressed to Henri de Montherlant. 2 pages, in-12 format (142 x 112 mm), with addresses and postmarks on the reverse. Paris, 8 January 1923 and 3 August 1925. 1923, regarding Henry de Montherlant’s novel *Le Songe*: “You ask me which pages I have read. Here they are: from page 222, ‘As Alban was searching…’ to page 237, ad finem […] so it was only a very brief experience, but a very pleasant one.” 1925: He thanks Henry de Montherlant for not having forgotten his books, “which seem to me to have all but ceased to exist”, and mentions his work on Cicero. On the back of this letter is a paragraph in another hand featuring Alban, a recurring figure in Henry de Montherlant’s work.
