An art book containing a multiple and three silkscreen prints signed by the artist. S.l. [Paris], Denoël, 1975. Folio size, loose-leaf, blank filled cover, publisher’s slipcase in blue satin lined with grey felt, adorned with the title in silver on the spine and a coloured metal plate on the front cover, cardboard case. 55 pp. and a frontispiece featuring a multiple made of coloured aluminium and Plexiglas set in a blue satin frame, and three full-page colour silkscreen prints. Tears to the protective cardboard slipcase. First edition of these interviews between the father of cybernetic art, Nicolas Schöffer, and the art historian Jean-Louis Ferrier. This art book features a superb multiple as a frontispiece and three colour silkscreen prints, each numbered and signed by the artist. Limited edition of 155 copies on Arches pure rag vellum (No. 73). Nicolas Schöffer (1912–1992), a visual artist and theorist of Hungarian origin, settled in Paris in 1936. From the 1950s onwards, his ‘luminodynamic’ installations – metal constructions with programmed movements and lighting – established him as a pioneer of kinetic and later cybernetic art, with numerous urban planning projects aimed at re-establishing humanity within a creative and liberating environment. A copy in excellent condition.
