CHARPENTIER, Henry. *Ecumes du Caÿstre*. A copy from the first edition printed on Imperial Japan paper, with a double version of the frontispiece, in a signed binding. Paris, Rombaldi – ‘Poèmes’ series, 1945. In-8, Prussian blue half-maroquin with corner pieces, spine with four false raised bands, gilt head, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed by René Aussourd. 185 pages, frontispiece. Brown linear marks on the leather of the back cover. A deluxe edition of this collection of poems by Henry Charpentier (1889–1952), featuring a beautiful lithograph by Gimond as the frontispiece. Limited edition of 1,100 copies; this is one of the 8 numbered head copies on Imperial Japan paper (no. 8), containing a double version of the frontispiece in black and red chalk. Bookplate (detached) by Auguste-Pierre Garnier, a poet from the Manche region who inherited the family publishing house in 1911. A fine copy.
