In-8, red half-maroquin with corner caps, plain spine adorned with a long gilt decoration comprising scrolls and flowers in the Art Nouveau style, gilt head, covers and spine intact. 358 pp. Spine very slightly faded. Minimal signs of wear. First French edition of this collection of short stories, among the most nostalgic by the American writer F. S. Fitzgerald (1896–1940), whose work reflected the hopes and disillusionments of the Roaring Twenties. Translated from the English by Dominique Aury and Suzanne Mayoux. Preface by Roger Grenier. One of 43 numbered copies on Lafuma-Navarre pure-fibre vellum, the only edition printed on large-format paper. In fine condition.
