Description
18th-century flintlock hunting rifle relic, long (109 cm barrel), 11 mm diameter – 13 cm long lock plate. Original stock almost intact along its length (10 cm missing from the muzzle), oxidised metal, incomplete lock plate, pan cover, spring and mechanism, butt plate, ramrod rests, trigger and trigger guard present (all parts made of steel). Hammer, ramrod and fittings missing; in the condition in which it was found, having been exposed to the elements. Oxidation and missing parts.
