Description
Spanish-style flintlock pistol with a Miquelete-type lock. Silver filigree lock plate on the hammer, body plated with silver leaf and bearing a hallmark containing Arabic characters. Round barrel with a ball-shaped breech and brass rings, stamped with a tonerre mark. Cast and chiselled brass fittings, ball-shaped breech. Carved wooden stock. The ramrod head is missing. The lock cocks but does not hold. Severe oxidation on the barrel and lock. 19th-century manufacture.
