Gibson Girl survival radio transmitter for liferafts, US Army Signal Corps (Second World War) BC-778-E
Manufactured by Bendix Aviation Limited under order no. 1462-DAY-44
Used by US Air Force bomber crews during the Second World War.
The lyre-shaped radio transmitter is designed to be held between the knees whilst operating the generator by turning the supplied crank; its rear compartment opens. Also supplied with its antenna wire stored in its wooden case, the two-part yellow and aluminium kite (to be assembled) with its yellow canvas storage pouch, intended for raising the antenna wire. A rare set in excellent condition (untested), with no warping or corrosion. The carrying strap and the overall cover are not included in this lot.
The items supplied here are perfectly complete and in near-new condition, ideal for the discerning collector of US Air Force equipment from the Second World War.
