Description
15 – Second-class (Commander) gold and enamel cross of the Tsarist Order of St Stanislaus, awarded in a civil capacity to a Christian recipient. A fine double-sided cross, with pommeted arms enamelled in red with translucent enamel, flanked by double-headed eagles(one eagle missing at the top right); the centre is enamelled in white, surrounded by a laurel wreath with green leaves on a gold background and bearing the intertwined initials of the saint (S.S.). On the reverse, the arms are un-enamelled and bear one hallmark on the upper arm and one on the lower arm; the centre is identical on the reverse, with the two intertwined letters in pink. Enamels intact; damage to the gilding on the arms on the obverse. In a red cardboard box bearing the imperial eagle, gilded in fine line work on the lid. (40 mm x 40 mm, 10.5 g). (Condition 2)
