A fine example of an Iberian-inspired Taza rapier, with a strong, straight, four-sided blade 980 mm long; the fuller at the thickest part of the blade bears a marking that is difficult to decipher, a lenticular pommel, a main crossguard that is not joined, two long, straight quillons in a nail-head shape, a strong donkey’s back, a hemispherical Taza with re-drilled floral decoration; a beautiful eight-sided taper adorned with a filigree of steel wires in a chevron pattern alternating with another filigree in a spiral coil, with two filigree braids marking the lower and upper ends of the taper; no scabbard, Viollet-le-Duc period, condition 1, total length: 115 cm, blade length: 98 cm
