Description
Renault Juvaquatre Hatchback Remains in original condition Chassis number 965038 Manufacture number AEB3 2994 Produced in 1939 Rare pre-war example Functional and roadworthy French registration Presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1937 and launched into production in 1938, the Renault Juvaquatre was available in a number of models, from coupé to saloon, convertible, van and estate... It should be noted that an electric model was proposed in 1940 without any success or follow-up. A popular model and a great commercial success for the marque au losange, the Juvaquatre featured a number of important technical innovations for its time, including independent wheels and a self-supporting steel body that signalled the end of the use of a heavy, cumbersome chassis. Ahead of its time, light and well powered for its time, and reliable, the juvaquatre remains a technical success of the pre-war car. In 1939 and 1940, a large number of civilian cars were requisitioned for use by the French army and then reused by the Reich's armies, including the Wehrmacht. This car is a rare collector's item, as it has remained in its original condition. Produced in 1939, it has been completely preserved in its original condition and production standards. The exterior paintwork and tint, upholstery and trim, wiring harnesses, dashboard, bodywork and mechanical parts are all in perfect original condition, as they left the Renault factory at Boulogne Billancourt. Its identification plates, chassis and production numbers and instructions are strictly original, and the dynamo features a diamond-shaped plate stamped 1939 and a red engine oil filler cap with Renault markings. Inside, time has stood still and the state of preservation of the upholstery, dashboard, gauges and switches is exceptional, yet still functional. A rare pre-war model in its original condition, this Renault Juvaquatre is a rare opportunity to acquire an authentic collector's car.
