"Leg Bag - US / British Airborne The unusual British-made Leg Bag used by US and British paratroopers on D-Day. Developed in 1943, this bag was designed to carry a paratrooper's weapons and individual equipment, weighing up to 50 kg. It was attached to the soldier's right leg by two sets of canvas straps secured by quick-release metal friction buckles. The base of the bag is designed with a space for the paratrooper's right boot. Model with War Department stamps, markings & arrow. Closure cord present. Calf strap incomplete & several items missing. As is.
