DKW NZ 350 Type : NZ 350 Frame no.: 482421 Engine no : Production: 1938 Restored and functional Normandy camouflage Collect it now DKW introduced the NZ model in 1938, first in 250 cm3 and then in 350 cm3, as a successor to the SB 200 and SB 350 series, which had an earlier design. It was an immediate commercial success. Technically advanced, the NZ series was robust and built with a deep-drawn, welded frame and removable rear end, a single-cylinder engine with aluminium crankcase, a four-speed foot-operated gearbox that also included a remote control on the tank, and wrap-around mudguards. It was built using easily interchangeable components, including its electrical equipment (coil, regulator and circuit breaker). The new Wehrmacht, created in 1936, was not immediately interested in this model, mainly because of its two-stroke engine. The outbreak of war changed all that, and the Wehrmacht ordered a large number of NZ 350s for its reconnaissance and liaison units, which used them in all theatres of operation. This example of the Dkw 350 Nz comes from an important collection where it has been completely restored, retaining its original parts. The refurbishment project was carried out with the aim of creating a motorbike that was both roadworthy and functional.
