Description
Large contemporary First Empire combat pistol. Octagonal rifled barrel with a calibre of 32 rounds to the pound. Slightly flared muzzle. Fixed rise and fine front sight. Flat locks originally flintlock, converted to percussion, signed "Au Brond..." (?) in Nantes. (?) in Nantes. Flat percussion hammer. Chimney on inertia block screwed to an attached breech. All iron fittings. Domed oval cap with flat bottom decorated with crane. Round trigger guard decorated with country landscapes. Iron bonnet forming a ramrod entrance; bat-wing back plates, beautiful varnished blond walnut frame extending to the muzzle. Squared grip. Barrel retained by a through key. Functional mechanism. Total length: 330 mm. Condition 1.
