Samurai armour, or yoroi, consists of a helmet (kabuto) and a face mask (mempo); the throat guard (yodarekake) protects the throat; shoulder guards (sode) cover the shoulders; arm guards (kote) protect the forearms; and gauntlets (tekko) protect the hands; the breastplate (do) protects the torso; the skirt (kusazuri), consisting of two panels, protects the hip area; and the greaves (suneate) protect the legs.
Black lacquered metal, chainmail, cotton and silk fabric. Some parts are likely not from the same period or have been restored.
