TSHOKWE, Angola. Wood, dark brown patina, animal skins. ‘Mukupela’ hourglass-shaped drum, with two skin heads attached. The central section of the single-piece wooden body features three handles and a hole edged with copper wire. First half of the 20th century. H. 43.5 cm. (restored).
