France, Paris, monuments, streets and miscellaneous scenes. Circa 1880–1910. Set of four albumen prints mounted on card. Examples of subjects: Notre-Dame de Paris (by the photographer Achille QUINET 1831–1900, red signature in the bottom right-hand corner of the image), Passage de l’Encheval (view taken from Rue de Crimée), the Paris Stock Exchange and the building at 40 Quai de l’Hôtel de Ville. Image sizes approximately 25 x 19 cm to 27.5 x 22 cm. Mounted sizes approximately 27 x 21.5 cm to 46.5 x 31 cm. Traces, stains, missing areas. PROVENANCE: Jean-Pierre Seguin (1920–2014): born in Avranches, curator and director of the Prints and Photography Department at the National Library from 1977 to 1981, president of the National Committee for French Engraving and editor of *Nouvelles de l’estampe* from January 1978 to June 1982.
