Description
A collection of around twenty photographs, circa 1880–1930, mostly albumin and silver gelatine prints, some mounted on card, others not. Examples of subjects: a Japanese woman in traditional dress, portraits of women, a nude Oriental woman, photographs of passers-by, Calvados (Saint-Clair, March 1991, Christian Neumüller), etc. Various conditions. Full sizes ranging from approximately 11 x 8 cm to 24 x 19.5 cm.
Provenance: Collection of Jean-Pierre Seguin (1920–2014). Founder of the BPI at the Centre Pompidou, 1965. Director of the Department of Prints and Photography at the National Library (1977–1981), President of the National Committee for French Printmaking and Director of *Nouvelles de l’estampe* (1978–1982).
