$10 ‘Eagle’, 1899 – Philadelphia. Obverse: Head of Liberty facing left, wearing a crown inscribed with ‘LIBERTY’, surrounded by thirteen stars. Year ‘1899’ in the exergue. Reverse: Heraldic eagle with outstretched wings, bearing the coat of arms of the United States, holding arrows and an olive branch. Motto ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’ above; inscription ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ and denomination ‘ TEN D.’ Edge: Fluted. Legal weight: 16.72 g. Metal and fineness: 900 gold. Diameter: 27 mm.
