Latin inscription ‘MATER OPERUM ATQUE ARTIFICIORUM · AEGYPTUS’; year ‘ 1961’ in the field. Signature of the engraver Werner Graul. Reverse: Six-pointed fleur-de-lis cross, adorned with plant motifs; in the centre, denomination ‘V DUCAT’. Peripheral inscription ‘PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI’; the words ‘AUREUS MAGNUS’. Edge: Smooth. Gross weight: 17.20 g. Metal and fineness: 980 gold. Diameter: 35 mm. Engraver: Werner Graul. Issue: Aureus Magnus series, Aegyptus, 1961. Condition: SUP. Historical note: Werner Graul’s Aureus Magnus series comprises medals in precious metals dedicated to historical figures and themes.
