Troop cavalry sabre (light?) with scabbard. Model 1822 known as "Bancal". Three-pronged "coup de fouet" brass handle, black leather sheathed spindle. Curved blade with gutter (approx. 87.5 cm). Handle registration number: 3883. Back of blade signed: "Manufacture d'Armes de Châtellerault". Probably dated July 1886 (difficult to read). Metal scabbard with strap (L: 92 cm). French work of the IIIrd Republic. Total length (with handle and scabbard): 107 cm. As is (pitting on blade and scabbard, wear).
