BOUTEILLER (Ernest), SAULCY (DE) – Topographical Dictionary of the Former Department of the Moselle, comprising ancient and modern place-names, compiled in 1868 under the auspices of the Moselle Society of Archaeology and History. Followed by: A note on an inscription discovered at Marsal (Meurthe department). Followed by: Archaeological Directory of the Department of Aube, compiled under the auspices of the Department’s Society of Agriculture, Sciences and Literature by M. d’Arbois de Jubainville. Paris, Imprimerie Nationale, 1874–1846; in-4, LV + 316 + 146 pp., brown half-calf binding, spine decorated with five raised bands. Reference work. In two columns. This work incorporates the *Topographical Dictionary of the District of Sarreguemines* by Jules Thilloy, which was awarded a bronze medal in the 1861 competition. Mr de Saulcy’s work on the inscription discovered at Marsal remains a true rarity, accompanied by a black-and-white plate. The *Répertoire Archéologique de l’Aube* was printed in 1861. Also included from the same author: BOUTEILLER (Ernest de) – *Éloge de Metz* by Sigebert of Gembloux. An 11th-century Latin poem translated and annotated by […] Followed by several other pieces on the same subject. Paris-Nancy, Dumoulin-Sidot, 1881; it reproduces, with a translation alongside, a collection of Latin texts relating to the history of Metz and includes, at the end of the volume, verses by Paul Ferry taken from a rare Lyon edition.
