[POINCARÉ] – Letter from Mr Castagnary, Councillor of State and Director of Fine Arts, to Raymond Poincaré. Paris, Ministry of Public Instruction, 1887; quarto, one sheet, folded and placed in an envelope with a postcard from Raymond Poincaré. Letter signed by Castagnary to Raymond Poincaré. This letter was sent to Raymond Poincaré, who had undoubtedly requested the Palmes Académiques for Mr Thiriot in a previous letter. This reply to Mr Poincaré, Member of Parliament for the Meuse, was forwarded as it stood in an envelope addressed to Mr Thiriot, together with Raymond Poincaré’s calling card bearing the handwritten note: ‘With my warmest congratulations.’
