SAULCY (M. de), HUGUENIN AINE – Account of the siege of Metz in 1444 by Charles VII and René d’Anjou; published from the original documents. Metz, Troubat, 1835; large 8vo, 343 pp., brown half-calf binding, plain spine with decoration, title and author’s name stamped in gold. A fine copy, with wide margins. Complete with the three maps, the fold-out plan and its seven plates. At the end of the volume, a curious glossary of obsolete terms; finally, a list of 162 subscribers, which would suggest that this was the number of copies printed at the time. Very few foxing spots; a superb copy, extremely rare in this condition.
