Paris, Librairie de France, 1929; 8vo, approx. 4,000 pp., navy blue half-maroquin bindings with corner pieces, spine with four raised bands, covers preserved, title labels in red maroquin, gilt lettering. All 10 volumes. Illustrations by Charles Martin. Alfred de Musset, French Romantic writer (1810–1857). He began his career in Charles Nodier’s literary circle and led a dandyish life characterised by a mixture of alcohol and depression. His work is characterised by extreme sensitivity. He had a tumultuous relationship with George Sand. With illustrations by Charles Martin, in very fine condition.
