MALOT (Hector) - La petite soeur. Paris, Flammarion, circa 1900; in-4, 519 pp, publisher's illustrated red boards, smooth spine, gilt edges, boards printed in black and gold. Hector-Henri Malot, known as Hector Malot, was a French novelist. He was born on 20 May 1830 in La Bouille, not far from Rouen, and died on 18 July 1907 in Fontenay-sous-Bois. Hector Malot wrote some sixty novels. The best known today are his novels for children: Romain Kalbris, Sans Famille, En Famille. Another children's novel, Le Mousse, was published posthumously.
