Description
19th-century infantry sabre. Slightly curved blade with a rounded back, featuring a fine fuller with grooves extending to the point and a terminal counter-edge. Gilded and chiselled bronze mountings; the pommel has a short tail decorated with a laurel wreath. Single guard branch, subdividing in the lower third into a branch encircling a re-pierced plate with floral decoration; the hilt shank is made of horn, curved in the centre and filigree-worked. In an officer’s-style leather scabbard with three brass fittings.
