Description
An adjutant’s sabre, Model 1845, from the Klingenthal workshop, as evidenced by the signature on the back of the blade. It has a rounded back, a terminal counter-cut, a narrow fuller and a groove on each side. The blade bears the marking ‘M Chazelle’ engraved in the centre of the left fuller. The weapon is mounted in chiselled gilt bronze, with a short-tailed cap and openwork plate, and a filigree horn pommel in its two-bracelet scabbard. Condition 1.
