An exceptional pair of Napoleon III-style ice buckets in veneer and marquetry, with lids adorned with openwork bronze friezes and bodies embellished with medallion-shaped porcelain plaques featuring polychrome floral and putti motifs in reserve. Zinc interiors. Bronze fittings. Late 19th century. Dimensions: H 85 x 61 x 46 cm (with damage and missing parts). A design reminiscent of the 18th-century work of Martin Carlin, cabinetmaker to Madame Du Barry.
