DOGON, Mali Hardwood, pigments. Dyommo" hare mask from the male initiatory society of the Awa, used during the Dama ceremony. The rectangular cubist face is pierced by two eyes and topped by two large erect ears. First half 20th century. Total dimensions: 33 x 13 cm. Provenance: Acquired by the collector at a Roudillon sale at Maître Savot in Orléans in the 1990s. Expert: Mr Christian Hervé Njiensi
