Description
Paul CANAUX (1892-1911) Very elegant tea and coffee service in 950/1000 silver comprising four pieces: teapot, coffee pot, sugar bowl and creamer. Each of the pots rests on a circular base embellished with a frieze of water leaves, the console handle in blackened wood; the plain body highlights the beautiful sobriety of a broad festoon of laurel leaves enhanced by two rows of pearls. Zoomorphic extremities on the spouts and on the creamer spout. The sugar bowl, with its high-quality vermeil interior, is flanked by two masked faces, wearing laurel wreaths and supporting the grip rings. The French Minerve hallmark on the 1st title is inscribed on each piece, as is that of master goldsmith Paul Canaux. Also included A silver-plated tray (not included in the total weight).
